Faith Lives Next Door
The music for this song was supposed to be a “jam” tune. So, there can be a lot of space for that in this tune. The “B” and “C” parts are easily expanded for jamming. Months after the music was in place, the story showed up.
A new tenant moved into a cabin that shared my driveway. Her name was Faith. She was a delightful person and we became friends over time. I was getting a Rolfing / Hakomi session from my friend Jules one day and I mentioned my new neighbor. The next thing Jules said was “ So….. Faith lives next door?” We immediately heard a song in that moment. At the time, I was in the midst of transitioning away from a 36 year marriage and part of that experience eventually became the story line.
I believe it is part of this song that a jam tune lined up with a song about relationships. They have a lot in common.
This song still helps me “let go of the why’s” and stay in the present.
Thanks for Fred Kosak on guitar.

Faith lives next door, never too far
Doubt moved out no longer in charge
Too long to figure this out
Too much benefit of the doubt
Searching for love where it was before
Just to discover not there any more
Busted heart, broken soul
CHORUS:
Learning to let go of the why's
Next thing I knew faith arrives
With a smile
Needed a good friend to pull back the shades
Allow light to shine on decisions I had made
Turns out, matter of mind
Turns out, trust in time
CHORUSAnchor adrift with me in tow
Gravity takes over one place to go
Sense of trust settles to my core
After moving Faith lives next door
CHORUS
